When setting up the client and game files people some times run into a couple of thing. In the below document we will address the most common problem players first run into when setting up their client and getting connected to UO Roleplay!
Not downloading & extracting the custom files into the client.
One of the most common problems that a new player may run into is getting the 7.0.3.0 client installed buy not extract the custom game files or extracting them into the wrong location.
When you download the custom file make sure you are extract them into the UO client folder that you just installed. This will over write the old file and replace them with our custom files.
03 – Note the client version should be 7.0.3.0 but you don’t have the custom files installed. 04 – When you login you won’t see much but clack space & floating NPC. You will likely get an Error crashing the game. 05 – Note the client version is 7.0.3.0. The login screen will look like this when you have the custom files installed properly. 06 – Upon logging in you will start at The Black Fox Inn. You will hear custom music and be able to enter the inn. The black area around the inn is simulating arriving at the inn during the night.
Having more then one UO game client on your computer.
Having more then one version of the UO install is ok to do! Just be sure you are using the right client when you start the game!
Some times players have more then one UO game client installed on their computer. This often happens if they have played on other servers in the past. When you start razor and enter the client directory make sure that you are using the client form UORoleplay.com website (Client Version 7.0.3.0) along with the custom files. If you accidentally use another copy of the client & try to login all sorts of crazy things will happen ranging form crashes to falling through floors to bizarre randomness all of the screen.
Patching the game client.
When players first install the 7.0.3.0 client from the UORolepaly.com website they may make the mistake of thinking they need to patch the game client with official patches from EA. Don’t do this! You will want to install the 7.0.3.0 client & add our custom game files form the website only.
Below is a image of what it would look like if you both patched your game UO client & didn’t add the custom game files.
01 – Not that after patching your client version would be 7.0.26.4 & above. Your client version will need to be 7.0.3.0.
02 – Upon begging the logging in process you will notice right away that you are not able to even log into the game! Also note that there is no custom background.
05 – Note the client version is 7.0.3.0. The login screen will look like this when you have the custom files installed properly.

No custom music.
If you start the client & get logged into the game and you only hear the old UO music or the default UO SA music that is a good indication that you are not using the custom music! This is ok if you plan to have your music muted all the time. However, if you like listening to music then it would be a great idea to go download the music and extract it into the \UO Client\music\Digital\ folder. If you don’t do this you are going to hear all sorts of strange things! We use a number of custom music scores.
