You may find yourself at this point asking, "Why are all these questions rising about Meta-Gaming recently?" Allow me to put your mind at ease. Recently our global RP has begun to develop some serious undertones. This being Serious style RP for many groups, while this is fun, it also leaves for the possibility of hurt feelings when something accidentally gets out and could damage a character forever. In order to cut down on the stress for all players on the shard this is the presented solution. | You may find yourself at this point asking, "Why are all these questions rising about Meta-Gaming recently?" Players
- 1. Role-playing character names are required. If you character does not have an appropriate name their name will be change.
- 2. Greifing other players or staff is not acceptable.
- 3. Be nice to the staff. We love players, especially nice, patient players. We actually listen to what you have to so!
- 4. Cheating, exploiting, bug abuse, file manipulation, or the use of any program that give the player any advantage or breaks the natural behavior of the game, will result in a permanent ban. If you find a bug or see another player doing something they should not be doing, please tell a GM.
- 5. We allow unattended macroing with Razor
- 6. You may not gather resources or items unattended. This includes mining, lumberjacking, lockpicking in dungeons, cotton picking, and fishing in deep water, etc etc.
- 7. Do not ever post a rant (no matter how well-worded) about another player or staff on the message boards. Doing so will get you banned. If you have something you would like to talk about please contact us privately.
- 8. Do not complain about something you don’t like about the server on the forums. We are all for suggestions & ideas to improve and add to all of our gamming experiences. Rolepalying Rules
1. Information gathered by Characters on the same Player account shall not be transferable information to other Characters owned by the Player.
- Explanation
If you have a spy character one and he/she gathers sensitive information he/she may NOT pass it to another Character you personally control. However, if for some reason your character sells that information to another player and it makes it's way back to you. Your Character can not act on this information without staff approval. (These things require research and time taking by staff) Or you can contact the opposing player and ask them if its fair and appropriate to RP the story line out this way.
- Exceptions
Game Master Characters - These characters shall have whatever knowledge they deem appropriate - however these characters will not actively seek out to harm other characters unless without providing alternative roleplay solutions.
- Reasoning
You may find yourself at this point asking, "Why are all these questions rising about Meta-Gaming recently?" Allow me to put your mind at ease. Recently our global RP has begun to develop some serious undertones. This being Serious style RP for many groups, while this is fun, it also leaves for the possibility of hurt feelings when something accidentally gets out and could damage a character forever. In order to cut down on the stress for all players on the shard this is the presented solution.
I'd like to personally thank every Player we have here at UORP and let them know I have their best interests and entertainment at heart. -GM Orlando/Matt
Violation of Rules
If any of the above rules are violated one of the following will result.
- A verbal warning.
- Your game account will be banned for 7 days.
- Your game account will be banned for 365 days.
Staff
- 1. Be respectful of Players at all times. Treat them with courtesy and patience. Never assume a player has done something wrong, no matter your personal opinions. Assume all situations are misunderstandings and seek to help all parties involved understand.
- 2. If a player comes to you with a problem with another player, do not get involved unless the player has acknowledged that he/she attempted to resolve it himself and is ready to admit they're a weenie.
- 3. Don’t Tweak player skills or stats. Fix the problem and make them happy, but make sure it’s a problem before you fix it.
- 4. Generally stay concealed unless you are dressed appropriately for a player and are willing to engage the player in polite conversation or role-play. We do not want god-like looking staff members hanging around making players uncomfortable.
- 5. Use good sense when determining the tone of your interaction. Don’t interrupt RP with OOC and vice versa. If the conversation is casual, enter it casually. Its okay for a Staff member to RP with their staff chars especially if that char’s personality is a polite and helpful one. If your staff char has a personality that is not nice and helpful, then either remove any twinges of role-play from that char and don’t engage in RP at all, change the char to one that is nice, or reconsider being on staff.
- 6. Staff reserve the right to NOT engage in RP if they are in a hurry to help someone else, or are simply not in the mood but know they need to log on to help. They will seek not to break an existing mood however and msg you privately.
- 7. Do not replace items lost on death. (Obvious if some weird bug crops up, that is a different story.)
- 8. Do not give items, resrouces, gold, rares etc to players.
